This year, Australia’s schools were again tested in some extraordinary ways, as leaders helped their staff and students through fires, floods, and the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
While these crises no doubt took their toll on Australia’s school communities, they also demonstrated how resilient, focussed and adaptable students, teachers and leaders can be under the most difficult circumstances.
The inspirational and tireless work being done in schools across Australia has provided us with the pleasure of highlighting the profoundly positive impact that the profession is having on the learning, and lives, of our young people.
In April, The Educator’s Rising Stars of 2022 recognised education’s young guns who are demonstrating effective leadership, innovation, and achievement in their career to date.
One month later, we revealed The Most Influential Educators of 2022, showcasing those who have had the strongest impact in creating a reformative teaching and learning culture in the last 18 months.
In August, the Australian Education Awards 2022 recognised excellence in teaching and learning across 28 categories, including Australian School Principal of the Year, Australian School of the Year and Best Student Wellbeing Program.
We thank the Award sponsors – Education Perfect, A Team Tuition, Grok Academy, Pivot Professional Learning and Reconciliation Australia – whose support made this important event possible.
In October, The 5-Star Education Service Provider Awards highlighted those delivering the most effective and transformative solutions that are helping the nation’s schools stay at the top of their game.
Most recently, the Hot List 2022, which included a whopping 73 winners, underscored how Australia’s teachers and leaders went above and beyond for their school communities over the last 12 months, in spite of the massive challenges they endured.
The strongly valued support that The Educator has received from teachers, principals, support staff, academics and education service providers has helped maintain our publication as Australia’s largest platform for the most senior education professionals.
As we say farewell to 2022 and embark on a new and exciting year, The Educator would like to again say a big thank you for your continued support and wish you all a restful and restorative holiday break, and a very Happy New Year.
