Natasha Vinod, Toorak College
Head of Year 8
Vinod has been making a positive impact on students’ learning and wellbeing over the past five years, with a focus on enhancing girls’ confidence and resilience; building a growth mindset for young students; creating learning plans that support each individual; and providing feedback in a consistent manner.
As Humanities and Business Management teacher, she has helped her students achieve outstanding academic results, with two of her Year-12 students getting a perfect score. She consistently attends conferences and participates in workshops for professional development and has presented at CommView Conference alongside Rebecca Jepson from University High School Creative Pedagogy within VCE Business Management.
As head of Year 8, she has led a number of pastoral programs and initiatives that support and empower students to be fearless in their pursuits. Initiatives include leadership workshops, community outreach programs, mindfulness and gratitude activities, practical social media advice, and challenge-based excursions and camps.
As a passionate advocate for girls’ education, Vinod develops strategies and plans for girls with high emotional needs and creates support systems for them, working with senior management, parents, school psychologists, and heads of faculty. She also coaches hockey, participates in a range of camps and challenge programs alongside the girls, and runs a number house activities.
