Saint Stephen's College
Saint Stephen’s College (SSC) is an indisputable leader in enterprise education, STEAM, Project-Based Learning (PBL), use of digital technologies and student data to enhance learning, collaborative learning, international engagement, and service learning. A strong emphasis on student self-regulation and physical and organisational architecture also support the College’s claim to be a change leader in Australian education. SSC has one of the largest Interact clubs and Earlyact clubs (junior versions of Rotary) in Queensland. Its students have won multiple awards for STEAM and enterprise related activities, and the College’s work with PBL has been acknowledged as exemplary by Independent Schools Queensland. This year, SSC’s work culminated in the school or individual staff members being placed in six finalist categories at the 2019 Australian Education Awards. SSC won the 2019 awards for the Best School Strategic Plan. SSC’s innovative culture is strengthened through staff engagement with one of twelve Communities of Innovative Practice and its 2018 EBA that requires staff to demonstrate how they are working with others to bring about meaningful change at the school.
