PLC’s Lighthouse is an integral part of the College’s co-curricular offerings with daily fitness classes such as boxilates, body ride, pilates, yoga and TRX, expressive arts classes, service learning and meditation sessions available to Junior and Senior School students. Since opening in April 2018, students in Years 5-12 have Health and Wellbeing lessons in the Lighthouse fortnightly. PLC has also introduced Lighthouse Flexi Lessons for Years 7-9 students. Senior students in Years 11-12 are able to access the Lighthouse facilities during study periods, breaks and before and after school. The personalised approach to wellbeing encourages students to explore and experience a range of strategies to discover what works best for them. The Lighthouse provides contemporary and flexible spaces to support the program. These include two studio rooms, a meditation room, recharge room, expressive arts room, movement space, fitness centre, cardio and circuit room, food and nutrition area. There are also modern ensuite bathrooms, a staff room and welcoming reception. Consultation rooms for allied health professionals are housed in the Lighthouse. This includes school psychologists and physiotherapist. The rooms are also screened and private, providing a safe and welcoming space for students.
