Immanuel College
Immanuel College is continuing to lead educational change with innovation at the heart of its culture. It’s not about innovation for the sake of innovation but equipping students to thrive in a world that is increasingly complex and rapidly changing. Students have worked on the ground-breaking Network Blue project to dramatically improve our knowledge of oceans. The project has seen students build and trial low-cost floating devices made to collect ocean data. Students in the College’s Physical Education program are also using technology adopted by professional sports teams to monitor fitness and performance. Utilising technology the Music Department has developed the label “32 Records” and curated this on a digital space for students to publish their work. Immanuel is also a leader in learning environment design. When the new Senior School opened, the Adelaide Advertiser described the building as being at the “cutting edge of educational thinking”. Large walls of glass invite a shared learning experience while customised furniture allows the environment to be varied day to day.
