Emmanuel College is a well-established and highly regarded school known for its leadership in the areas of technology and innovation. The College has been engaging with Microsoft technologies and software for many years now, establishing a program which enables teaching for the 21st Century. As a BYOD school utilising both Windows and Apple devices, Emmanuel is an exemplar school in the use of innovative technology to enhance the learning experience and promote an environment of anywhere, anytime learning. The College’s efforts have not gone unnoticed in the education community, either. The College’s principal and three key technology leadership staff, Mark Savery, Jonathon Roberts and Dan Pearson have been recognised in the Educator Online’s Hot List over the last three years. Mark and Jonathon have also been recognised as Microsoft Innovative Expert Educators, helping to drive a strong curriculum and strategic planning focus for technology in the College. A number of other innovative technology-supported initiatives are offered at Emmanuel including a student-led help desk, a makerspace, Minecraft clubs and the Junior Technology Champions Club. These allow students every opportunity to learn about technology and use it ethically to change the world for the better.
