Laura Bain is an emerging leader in the primary educational technology space. Having led the development of a primary-focused maker space and flexible learning environment at The Springfield Anglican College, she now co-teaches digital and design technologies as a new subject with classroom teachers, as part of a plan to build capacity and confidence in staff with the new curriculum and digital tools. Bain has led the development of integrated STEAM units on campus and has been approached to present and share her experiences at several conferences, including EduTECH Asia and the T21C conference. Recently, she became a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert and has been asked to write for Microsoft Education and share her experiences in their training webinars. Bain has also been approached by the International Society for Technology in Education to share her knowledge about teaching younger students to code. She also hosts extra professional learning opportunities for teaching staff at her Teacher Technology Club.
