With entries for the third annual Innovative Schools report currently open, here’s a look at one of last year’s winners
Last year, The Educator’s Innovative Schools report showcased the work of 40 Australian schools at the forefront of change and innovation.
Among the 40 schools recognised was Bethania Lutheran School in Queensland as a result of its forward-thinking approach to learning environments.
In order to promote the needs of individual learners, the school ditched the traditional idea of static desks and opted instead for agile learning spaces. Each space includes a standing desk, moveable soft furnishings, stable tables for floor work, adjustable tables, fit balls and stools, as well as a range of writeable surfaces and technologies.
All Bethania Lutheran School teachers have been trained on contemporary agile learning spaces and the pedagogy necessary to successfully teach in these environments.

If your school is taking steps towards innovation in 2017, submit a nomination for this year’s Innovative Schools report before entries close Friday 21 July.
