Leading Australian superannuation fund Prime Super has partnered with The Educator for the Australian Education Awards 2024.
The Awards, being held Friday 9 August 2024 at the Star Event Centre in Sydney, will recognise educational excellence across 29 categories, including Best Student Wellbeing Program, Education Rising Star of the Year, and Australian School of the Year, showcasing the best of what Australian education has to offer in 2024.
Prime Super, an independent profit-to-members superannuation fund providing superannuation and retirement solutions to Australians for over 30 years, supported the Awards in 2023 when it sponsored the categories School Principal of the Year (Non-Government) and Regional School of the Year – the two award categories it will again be sponsoring this year.
Below, The Educator speaks to Billie Atanasova, National Sales Manager, Corporate Super at Prime Super, about the company’s work with K-12 schools and its decision to support the Australian Education Awards for a second year running.
TE: Can you tell us why you have chosen to partner with The Educator for the Australian Education Awards 2024, and talk us through the work that Prime Super has been doing to support K-12 schools in Australia over the past year?
Prime Super’s support of the Australian Education Awards as Event Partner in 2024 is part of our commitment to supporting our many current and future members in the education sector. As a super fund we have a strong affinity with the teachers, principals and support staff in schools who are working every day to elevate the futures of others. We share a similar commitment in that we are working every day to help our members create the best possible future outcomes for themselves.
TE: One of the Awards you are sponsoring is the School Principal of the Year (Non-Government) Award. Why has Prime Super decided to sponsor this Award? And what are some of the challenges the company is helping school leaders in the non-government sector overcome in 2024?
Prime Super is pleased to again sponsor the School Principal of the Year (Non-Government) Award and honour the outstanding and important contributions of principals across the non-government sector. The work we do aims to help schools attract the best people by offering Prime Super’s personalised services and expertise in superannuation as part of the school’s employee value proposition. In their leadership capacity, principals take care of their schools’ staff by supporting the mental and physical wellbeing of their staff and Prime Super offers guidance in the vital area of superannuation and financial wellbeing.
TE: Prime Super is also sponsoring the Regional School of the Year Award. Why is sponsoring this Award so important to the company?
Prime Super’s network of regional managers supports schools throughout the country. We believe the valuable work that educators and school staff are doing in regional communities is very important to the country as a whole. Our own history stems from regional Australia where, following the amalgamation of four regional super funds, Prime Super first began its operations. We are delighted to support the education sector of regional Australia and look forward to acknowledging the school that is recognised for its great work in a regional community in 2024.
