A school in Melbourne’s north-west has been closed after a student tested positive to COVID-19.
The Year 5 student, who is one of nine new virus cases detected in Victoria, attended Strathmore Primary School, which has become the third primary school in the state to close in just two days.
The school will be closed for the rest of the day while deep cleaning and contact tracing are conducted by health authorities.
The latest incident comes after Pakenham Springs Primary School in Melbourne’s south-east and St Dominic's School in Broadmeadows were shut down when two students from each school contracted the virus.
