Assistant to the Principal, Professional Teaching and Learning
Brigidine College Indooroopilly
Allison Johansen, Assistant to the Principal, Professional Teaching and Learning, has been part of the Brigidine College Community for seven years, previously as Humanities Curriculum Leader. During Allison's time at the College she has been integral in shaping the professional learning journey for teachers and using evidence-based pedagogy to support students to make greater gains in their learning. Her belief is value-adding – the pillar of her educational philosophy, where all students and staff alike, are given opportunities to improve their learning outcomes, be they academic or pastoral. Allison's strategic leadership direction aligns to the The Alice Springs (Mparntwe) Education Declaration on Educational Goals for Young Australians: creating successful learners who are confident, creative, active and informed citizens - people who confront challenges with hope and wisdom, whilst being caring, considerate and compassionate towards themselves and others. This purposeful and hope-filled environment is led by the strategic plan, grounded in evidence-based research and measured by student outcomes. Allison was awarded the Rising Star Award in 2017.
