Program Director: Exercise and Sport Science portfolio
Dr Alyson Crozier moved from her native Canada to become an influential lecturer at the University of South Australia (UniSA) in 2016, teaching and conducting research in the area of health, exercise and sport psychology. She became program director of UniSA’s Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science after two years. In 2019, she oversaw the successful re-accreditation of her program with the Exercise and Sport Science Australia. Crozier is set to deliver a business case for UniSA offering a Masters of Sport Science — the state’s first. Along with attracting international and interstate students to the university, the program aims to provide graduates of Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science with local post-graduate opportunities. Crozier has recently implemented several changes to her program’s tutorials, which have made them more engaging and, therefore, better attended. Despite increasing academic work, Crozier manages to keep her commitment to research and publishing. She was able to secure a $65,000 funding from industry and institutional sources for her research program about how social agents can influence human behaviour.
