Distinguished corporate leader, Christine McLoughlin, takes on the challenge of guiding the University of Wollongong towards an exciting future as its new chancellor, armed with a commitment to the highest standards of governance, performance and stakeholder management, as well as her passion for bringing people together through education, sport, health, technology, and community inclusion.
McLoughlin is currently the chairman of Suncorp Group and a director of nib holdings and of the McGrath Foundation. A strong advocate for inclusiveness, fairness, and equal opportunity, she also co-founded and chairs the Minerva Network, a mentor organisation aimed at supporting elite Australian female athletes both on and off the field of play. Just this April, she was appointed by the Australian Government as the private sector representative for Australia for the G20 Empowerment and Progression of Women's Economic Representation (EMPOWER).
