Paul Chandler, UNIVERSITY OF WOLLONGONG
Pro vice-chancellor (inclusion and outreach)
University of Wollongong (UOW)
Paul Chandler, the first aboriginal person to be named dean (of University of Wollongong’s then Faculty of Education) at any university in Australia, is the architect behind UOW’s inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan. The program is aimed at building greater connections with the indigenous community and improving outcomes for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Chandler hopes to use the framework of the plan to make a meaningful impact and help bring indigenous knowledges further into the higher education system.
