After a thorough and extensive global search, Tanglin Trust School (TTS) has appointed Craig Considine as CEO of the Singapore international school.
Considine takes over from Peter Derby Crook who held the helm for over eight years and has since moved on to become education vice president at GEMS Education.
Considine was headmaster of Millfield, a leading co-educational independent school in the UK, for 10 years. Millfield is well known for its excellent academic achievements, diversity, open entry policy, sporting achievements and outstanding facilities. Considine made a number of significant changes to enhance the school's excellent academic and pastoral provision.
Considine was also headmaster of an independent boarding and day school in New Zealand, and held posts at a number of Australian independent schools, including Geelong Grammar School.
He represented Australia at the Commonwealth Games in track and field and played professional AFL football, pointing to his passion for sport and co-curricular activities.
Considine has a master’s degree in education from Charles Sturt University, a diploma of education from Melbourne University and a bachelor's degree in applied science from RMIT. He has a strong belief in the importance of well-being as the cornerstone of each pupil flourishing and achieving his or her potential.
“My predecessor has handed over the school in excellent heart,” Considine said. “The reputation of Tanglin is stronger and more acknowledged than ever, and we are delighted to be welcoming strong student numbers again [from August 2018].
“I am looking forward to working with the faculty teams, support staff and of course the parents, students and children, and will be observing and listening a lot to life at Tanglin over the coming months.”
